WEBISODES ARE COMING!

What are Cinema Eulogies Webisodes?

Cinema Eulogies has progressed from posting only written material to our website – we have started filming reviews, interviews, debates, and more. We have compiled all of this material together to create what we like to call “Cinema Eulogies Webisodes.” In layman’s terms, it’s a review show. Our Webisodes are aired strictly over the internet from www.cinemaeulogieswebisodes.com once or twice every month and can be viewed by everyone for free. Don’t be alarmed: for those of you who still like the old school written material, we’re still going to have plenty of that available.

The Webisodes will be all about horror and consist of on-location reviews and interviews, on-set walkthroughs, upcoming news in the horror industry, debates, contests, and much more for your entertainment! Here’s a little more information on what we have in store for you:

Reviews, Interviews & On-Set Walk-Throughs: Reviews and interviews are pretty self-explanatory; the only difference is that these will be filmed. Sometimes we may have on-location reviews and interviews. That could mean one of two things: either we are at one of the locations from the film, or we are just being creative and going somewhere that relates to the film being discussed. For example, our first video review was of a horror film called Gutterballs about a slasher in a bowling alley. We didn’t go to the bowling alley it was filmed in, but instead went to our neighborhood bowling alley. See? Aren’t we creative?

As far as on set walk-throughs, we may come in to a little luck and have the pleasure of giving you an inside look on some films actually being shot. This will be rare (do not expect it every month!) but it is definitely going to happen every once in a while.

Horror News: Horror News will include almost anything and everything you can consider news. We will be letting you know about DVD & theatrical releases including special edition re-releases, films in post and pre-production, upcoming horror conventions, and lots more. I’m sure you get the point.

Debates: This is where you, the fans, come in to play. We would like for you to send in requests for upcoming debates on our show. We will only be doing one debate per Webisode, so we’re going to be choosing the best one. Whatever debate we choose, we will obviously give credit where credit is deserved, so make sure when you send in your debate request, you sign whatever name you choose to be known as at the bottom. Also, make sure you give us your point of view on the debate. If Cinema Eulogies likes your idea, but doesn’t share your opinion, we will have you on the show (by phone) and you can argue your side of the debate on film.

SEND ALL DEBATE REQUESTS TO: cinemaeulogies_info@yahoo.com with the word ‘DEBATE’ in the subject.

Contests:
You, the fans, are also involved in this part. Every month that an episode is aired, we will come up with some kind of contest. We may flash a still from a movie, and you will have to tell us what movie it’s from. Maybe we’ll have a trivia question that needs to be answered. Point being, whatever the contest is, you will have until the next Webisode is aired to send us your answer. Whoever sends the correct answer first will win whatever that month’s prize is, so make sure you stay posted on Webisode air dates and be the first to send your reply! The monthly contest winner will get some of our merch and a specialty prize that will vary every month and will be announced in the prior month’s Webisode.

Our first Cinema Eulogies Webisode is scheduled to air mid-to-late October, so be sure to keep an eye out for that! In the meantime, go to
www.cinemaeulogies.com and check out our newest written reviews, read some old ones, check out the interviews, read our blog, check out our merch, or do none of the above! Whatever it is you plan on doing after reading this, just make sure you support the underground!

Realism in Horror Films

Here's a little rant for you guys. *may contain spoilers

I've had this debate numerous times on the realism of certain films. One in particular being Wes Cravens 'Scream'. Lots of people say that movie is a total piece of shit and has sent the genre downhill since it's release. Personally, i enjoyed the movie. Not for the storyline in particular, because as everyone knows it's teeny bopper bullshit. I enjoyed it for the fact that it's a fun movie to watch. I found humor in it, it was made well, etc.

But that's not what this post is about, I could care less whether or not people liked the film, everybody has their own opinion. This post is about all the people who can sit there and say that the movie is shit because it's so unrealistic. How can anybody possibly say that? If you don't like the story, that's one thing, but to say that the situation could never happen is another.

I will admit that when I first watched that movie it scared me. I was about 10 years old, I hadn't really seen many horror films and this was about the point that my parents started trusting me to stay home alone. So of course I get home that night jumping every time the phone rang thinking somebody was outside the house with a knife.

What is it people think is so unrealistic about this movie though? Is it the fact that he wears a mask to hide his identity? Because last time I checked, any killer out there with at least half a brain would wear whatever disguise they could if it assured them even a little bit that they wouldn't get caught.

Was it that the killer ended up being a friend of all the victims? I mean can any of you honestly say that you've never wanted to kill one of your friends for fucking you over? For standing you up? Of course you don't mean it, and you may not plot out the exact murder, but don't deny mumbling under your breath "Ugh, I'm gonna kill them!" Some people just have a few more loose screws up in that noggin of theirs and take the next step.

Is it that it takes so long for the killer to get caught? Because not to insult our good ol' law enforcers, but some of them aren't the brightest tools in the crayon box(haha). Not only that, but to my knowledge, numerous serial killers have stats adding up to over 100 victims, what's the deal with that? Are those TRUE stories now unrealistic too?

I can't pinpoint every single detail that people make out to be so unrealistic about these films, but I'm sure if something was brought to my attention, I'd be able to talk you through how that actually could happen, without defying the laws of physics.

Honestly, I would chose watching 'Nightmare on Elm Street' or any of those other horror movies over 'Scream' in a second, and I definitely agree with most that so many sequels should not have been made, but when you really think about it, it's that shitty movie everybody laughed at and pushed aside in Blockbuster that could become reality.

28 Days/28 Weeks Later Debate

Ok. To end the longtime debate on whether or not the infected from 28 Days & 28 Weeks Later are zombies or not has been solved. I felt from the beginning that these people were in no way shape or form the Undead for the simple fact that they had never died, nor have they been bitten or infected by the recently deceased. I have just completed watching a small documentary on the special features portion of 28 Weeks Later and as stated by a crew member who was choreographing the cast of infected… “they are not zombies or creatures, they are people infected with pure rage”!!!

I have been fighting this fact since the first film was released and 50% of people just don’t get it, they cant get it through their thick ball sacks, and/or labia… to be politically correct. I cant begin to explain the many, many ways that can prove the fact of these PEOPLE not being the previously DEAD. Yes they are infected the same way a person would be as if they were by zombies, well for the most part, the heavy vomiting of blood into the face of the living isn’t a usual happening in your everyday flick about the Undead.

For those of you who still believe they are zombies, keep watching over and over till you fucking get it. This film is not the re-make of Dawn of the Dead, which featured corpses that could beat even the greatest of Olympian sprinters in the one hundred meter dash. These two films are extraordinarily different. They creators of the 28 films tried to use an intelligent and extremely fresh idea but it was tainted by minds who only believe that such looks and happenings could be done by zombies… fuck that!At the moment I am sticking my tongue out at you all and hoping your brains can fathom the fact that you were WRONG!!!!!!
